Alana Twum-Barimah Appointed President of Ariza Credit Union’s Board of Directors

(St. George’s, Grenada – August 20, 2024) – Ariza Credit Union is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mrs. Alana Twum-Barimah as President of the Board of Directors. Mrs. Twum-Barimah, who was elected as a board director at the Credit Union’s Annual General Meeting on June 29, 2023, assumed the role of President on July 29, 2024. 
 
Mrs. Twum-Barimah brings extensive expertise to her new role, with a background in Commercial and Banking Law, Anti Money Laundering/Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), Succession and Family Law, Corporate Governance, Employment, and Contract Law. She is a highly accomplished Attorney-at-Law and Governance and Compliance Specialist with over 12 years of executive management experience. 
 
Her previous roles include serving as Deputy Registrar and Registrar of the Supreme Court from 2010 to 2019 and as Corporate Secretary/Executive Manager: Legal and Compliance at Grenada Cooperative Bank Ltd. from 2019 to 2022. Since August 2022, Mrs. Twum-Barimah has been an Assistant Professor of Law and Management at St. George’s University, teaching courses in International Trade Regulation, International Business Law, and Business Law at both undergraduate and graduate levels. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor’s in Psychology, an LLB, a Legal Education Certificate, and an LLM in International Business Law. She is also a certified Compliance Specialist and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Banking Law at the University of Birmingham. Additionally, she is the owner and author of the “Keke, The Caribbean Kid” Reading Book Series. 
 
Regarding her appointment, Mrs. Twum-Barimah stated, “Service is at the core of what I do. I am passionate about serving others, and I am excited to lead and guide this esteemed organization forward.” She expressed confidence in Ariza’s continued growth and success, given her positive experiences working with the board and management.
