Job Summary:

An opportunity exists for an experienced Accountant to provide leadership and expertise in the areas of financial reporting, compliance and regulations and the implementation of accounting processes.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensures compliance with internal and external controls.
• Performs general cost accounting.
• Analyses data to predict future revenues/expenses for input into strategic plans and annual budgets.
• Prepares periodic (monthly) financial statements.
• Maintains the investment portfolio of the Credit Union.
• Overseas the external audit.
• Reviews and advises on changes to policies/processes/procedures/controls.

Qualification, Experience, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Professional Accounting Certification (ACCA, CPA or CGA).
• 5 years’ experience as an Accountant.
• Extensive knowledge of general accounting principles and IFRS; strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and by-laws.
• Skills: leadership, supervision, emotional intelligence, communication, organisation, teambuilding, accountability, integrity, analysis and problem-solving and detail-orientation.
• Ability to manage large amounts of data.
• Ability to create, implement and monitor budgets.
• Proficient in Sharee or similar software, accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
