At a ceremony held at a conference room at Ariza Credit Union Headquarters on Monday 27th March 2017, CEO of the Credit Union, Mrs. Lucia Livingston Andall awarded over 20 students for breaking records at the Ariza Credit Union National Junior Championships. The championships was held over a 2 day period March 17-18, and can boast the participation of over 13 schools and clubs competing in over 94 events. The competition was carried live on Facebook with engaging commentating and active discussion by viewers.
These records were broken in the Discus and Javelin, 100m girls and 4X100 m relay to name a few. The students were present to receive their Cash Prizes and expressed their gratitude to the Credit Union for this added incentive to participating in the event.
Present at the Ceremony was also PRO of the Athletic Association, Kwame Hypolite, Conrad Francis of the Technical Team, and Ms. Denise Williams.
Ariza Credit Union is pleased to have been associated with this game since we are convinced that it is through these initiatives that young people discover passion, display talent and discover the potential of their dreams.
The Championship was used as an avenue for selecting Grenada’s representatives for the upcoming CARIFTA Games. A selection of 21 athletes was made for the competition which takes place April 15 to April 17, 2017 in Curacao.
Ariza Credit Union wishes them success in the FLOW CARIFTA Games.
